Instead of the usual Christmas cards, this year, for the first time, we gave the sum we would have spent on them to a social institution in the form of a donation.

HIGHVOLT would like to invite you to Dresden for what is already our 8th colloquium. From 9 to 10 May 2019, well-known speakers from industry, academia and research will report on current trends and new developments in the field of high-voltage testing and measurement technology.

The high-voltage road to honour
The winner of the 2018 HIGHVOLT Award has been announced. Michael Bauer will be enjoying this recognition and the 1,000 euros that come with it. The graduate from the Electrical Engineering course at the TU Dresden University of Technology received the prize for his diploma thesis on “Measuring pulsed currents in mineral insulating oil when pre-breakdown occurs”. The electrical engineer studied electrical breakdown and discharge mechanisms. His work focused on the particular challenges posed by loads from voltage surges.
